Podcast Description

In this powerful and data-driven episode, Bertrand Ngampa shares a preview from his upcoming book "Why Should White Men Have All the Money?" After completing the first chapter, Bertrand presents compelling evidence that Black people aren't just survivors—they're thrivers who have built prosperous communities repeatedly throughout history, only to have them systematically destroyed.

Bertrand identifies three specific forces responsible for the destruction of Black wealth and communities: the US government's failure to protect its Black citizens during lynchings and Jim Crow (with 99% of lynchings going unpunished), the oppressive system of white supremacy that marginalizes anyone without white skin, and domestic white terrorist mobs that destroyed thriving Black communities like Rosewood, Seneca Village, and Black Wall Street in Tulsa.

From the CIA's role in funneling crack cocaine into Black neighborhoods (as documented by Gary Webb in The Dark Alliance) to the Tuskegee experiments, Bertrand backs up his claims with historical facts that are often glossed over or forgotten. He reminds Black listeners that despite these systematic attacks, Black people have always found ways to thrive in the worst conditions society has thrown at them.

This episode is a reminder: you're not lazy, you're not broken—you're a thriver. Your people have always done for themselves, and understanding this history is essential to reclaiming your power and wealth.

[00:00:00] Just had the hardest sneeze of my life. But as you guys may not know, or may you do know, I'm writing a book, why should white men have all the Money? And I'm super excited about this book because after doing a whole bunch of research, chapter one is officially done with, you know, typing it all out and writing it all out. But something I'm super excited about is that I have finally can pinpoint, right, the with data to show people that black people are victims. [00:00:33] But more so than just being Victor victims, we derive in any situation that we've been put in. [00:00:40] And we're more than just survivors, right? A survivor is someone that just like barely makes it, right? Like you barely survive. But no, black and white thrived in every freaking environment we've been put in. [00:00:52] And there's three people we can blame and hold accountable. [00:00:57] Number one, probably not surprising, but it's the U.S. government. The U.S. government did not get involved at all when black people were getting lynched, were getting attacked, when Jim Crow, when the KKK was attacking its black citizens. [00:01:13] The US government did nothing. [00:01:15] They were idle in acting. They did not move until actually the world had to force the US to move into action during Civil Rights when it was broadcasted worldwide. [00:01:29] And even then, 99% of lynchings, there was no one held accountable for the people that were killed. [00:01:38] Do you understand that lynchings still go on even though it's outlawed, but 99% of them there has been no one held accountable. [00:01:50] Crazy to think that set. Second, people that you can blame is the system at hand, right? White supremacy, everyone calls it. [00:02:02] People call different things, but at the end of the day, it's the oppressive system that we live in that marginalizes black and minorities. [00:02:11] People call it white supremacy because if you are of white skin, then you can benefit from the system. Because why everyone that doesn't have white skin is seen as less than somebody that does have white skin. And this is something that plays out throughout colonization, our time in history. [00:02:32] Because even now, if you go back to Africa and you talk to somebody, a lot of people see white and they think money, right? They instantly see white, they think intelligence. That's why in our community, when you start talking, if you talk properly, people say, oh man, you trying to be white, right? You have, you have intelligence. No, you just. If you could be a great orator, people say, oh, you just want to be white, right? And they use that as an insult because why? They link white people and money together, white people and intelligence together. [00:03:03] And last but not least, this probably might be the most shocking one, and I'm going to get a lot of flack for this. But it's definitely domestic white terrorist mob groups. [00:03:16] Rosewood is actually. Let me take a step back here. [00:03:20] Blacks people have built several thriving communities. Black people have built several thriving communities. [00:03:29] Seneca in. I believe it's in New York. Rosewood in Chicago, Tulsa, Black Wall street. [00:03:39] And there's been other ones in North Carolina. [00:03:42] I don't have the names in front of me, but there's been several thriving black communities. And what happens every single time black people have a thriving community, white terrorist domestic mobs come in and destroy everything. [00:04:00] Understand this, right? We have banks, we have a whole system operating for us outside of. [00:04:09] Outside of white people, outside of white America, right? Thriving by ourselves. White mobs always come destroy it. And what they do is they take all the property there. And yet again, I said the US Government has no involvement. [00:04:23] They don't hold anybody accountable. Even till this day, there has been no one tried or held accountable for what has happened and all those communities at all. And like I said before, 99% of lynchings, nothing has happened. [00:04:37] Let me throw more data at you as well. Crack in the black community. [00:04:41] Crack did not kill the black community. [00:04:44] Not at all. [00:04:45] What killed the black community was the justice system charging black people at a higher rate and locking us up because of crack. [00:04:57] Right? Like I said, crack didn't kill the community. It was higher printed highest, higher prison sentences for crack cocaine. If co. If. If cocaine, which is powdered cocaine, was found on white people, they would get a slap on the wrist yet again. [00:05:21] The CIA funnel money. The rule of the black community by selling crack cocaine in our community, taking the money out, and then funding wars with this, right? The dark alliance. Gary Webb talks about this. The Freeway Rick Ross is the real freeway. Rick Ross, the guy that actually sold a billion dollars worth of crack cocaine in the black community and was the guy that was seen as a person that introduced crack cocaine to our community, when actually it was this. It was a CIA operation that took all that money out, right? These are deadly things to talk about because Gary Webb was found bullet holes in his head. They said he shot. He committed suicide by shooting two bullet holes in his head. I'll let you ponder that. [00:06:03] However, also, the US government gave. Did experiments on black people. The. The Tuskegee experiments where they gave black males syphilis and a Cadillac in exchange for a Cadillac. [00:06:17] I recently went to go do a clinical research and my wife was. Was telling me, how could you do clinical research knowing everything that happened to our community with that, luckily, I couldn't do it for, you know, medical reasons. But at the end of the day, black people have always been the. The. The scapegoats and the punishment and, and have, excuse me, have endured a lot of punishment from. [00:06:47] From the US Government, from the oppressive system that we live in, white supremacy, and from white terrorist, angry domestic mobs as well. So with that being said, what I want to share with you is to share that, especially to. To my black people that listen to this, is that you are a thriver. You. We. You have always thrived. Your people have owned, as you always say, our people have always found a way to thrive in the worst of society. You're not lazy, you're not broken. [00:07:21] You. You always have done for yourself. But yet again, these three prongs have always come in and destroyed that. Okay, with that being said, I want you to remind yourself you've always loved yourself. You've always been a thriver. You're smart, you're intelligent. You are the original man. And you are, and you are only second to God. [00:07:42] All right, Peace.
