What’s up y’all—it’s Bertran.
Today I want to share a powerful money mindset shift I’ve made during this debt-free journey I’m on. I’m on pace to be 100% debt free within the next 6 months—me, my wife, our family—zero debt.
But here’s what I’ve learned the second time around:
The journey isn’t just about sacrifice… it’s about celebration.
Why my first debt payoff journey was miserable (I didn’t allow ANY celebrations)
How I now track progress AND reward myself along the way—without breaking the budget
Why celebrating financial wins matters for mental health and motivation
Examples of low-cost, meaningful rewards that don’t derail the plan
The powerful question I ask myself: If I died tomorrow, would I be proud of the journey I’m on?
How little treats (like cookies or Niagara Falls trips) can fuel you to stay consistent
Why joy and discipline can live together in your financial plan
Celebration is not the enemy of discipline. It’s fuel.
This time, we’re building wealth and enjoying the ride.
If you’re on a debt-free or savings journey—don’t wait for the big “I’m finally done” moment to celebrate.
✅ Set a money milestone tracker, and assign small rewards to each level.
Could be a book, an ice cream trip, a new journal, or just some cookies. Keep it intentional.
Message me and let me know:
What small reward can you give yourself this week for staying disciplined?
Because when you enjoy the process, you’re more likely to finish the mission.
