[00:00:00] What's going on, everyone? So I have a special episode here because I can't wait to talk about this. This is super amazing and very fascinating stuff, right? So I want you to think about maybe about, you know, 50 years ago, right? Or 50, 40 years ago, okay? There was a. There was a. There was a structure or method to how people went to work or, excuse me, went to college, got educated, then got a job, then went to a company for 20 years, then retired. That's probably your parents.
[00:00:29] And then in that time, maybe your aunts and uncles follow that same process as well, right? And then there is us, right?
[00:00:39] About 20 years ago, we were told that, go to school, don't worry about the degree.
[00:00:44] Just get a degree, and then you're gonna have a job when you get out. And what happened is.08 hit.
[00:00:51] We all got out of college and there was no jobs that were in the worst financial epidemic in our country. And then now, then we had a great period of like, you know, uprise. And then the method of going 20 years at a company changed because we saw our family and friends give 20 years to a company and then get laid off. And then we said, you know what? Every two years now, the method was for us was, hey, you job hop every two years to get a higher salary, to increase your income, and to keep going. Right?
[00:01:24] Now the method has changed again, right? And it's changed so drastically because of AI, because of what the news and how technology is changing so fast that now that, hey, stay at a job for 20 years, retire, get a pension is not the method that we are all seeing. There's a rise of. Because of the rise of the Internet and how you have people that are making money online, you have people that are making a living scamming.
[00:01:51] Half of Miami are just full of scammers or people that pretend to be a guru in something that they learned in a weekend, made maybe less than $10,000 with. And now they're teaching and having courses, people selling books, people doing so many odd little things because of the Internet. And we're all connected now, selling different things, right? Whether it's a course, whether it's products or services. But the Internet has boomed that. Right?
[00:02:13] Now what I want you to see is that that old way of thinking, a lot of boomers, like your parents, might be telling you, hey, back in my day, I did this. But it has changed so much that they can't grasp what's going on.
[00:02:28] That's why a lot of people don't like politicians, because politicians are out of touch with the normal person. Average day person in the job market right now, trying to get a job applies to maybe 100 places, get zero interviews. Now you have to apply at least 500 to a thousand places just to get one interview. Excuse me.
[00:02:46] So my takeaway from you is that instead of just listening to what's always been done or doing everything how everyone else is doing it, you're going to get similar results. What I want you to do is take time and think about hey, what is the current system or method that I need to learn that everyone else isn't learning? Take a step back and say okay, what is still working? What isn't working anymore? Because clearly applying for jobs via easy apply or just going to company websites and applying, that's not working. What is working? Networking, connecting with hiring managers straight up in LinkedIn DMs. Right? So, and this can go for anything too. Marriage and dating. Back in the day, marriage, you married, your parents, picked out somebody for you and that's the only person you married. Nowadays there are so many methods and ways of marriage, right? There's monogamy, then you have polyamorous, there's all these other ones, right?
[00:03:44] So for you, pick out what is it that you want?
[00:03:47] Does that old system of thinking still function and help you take a step back, make a plan and execute, execute, execute, learn, iterate and innovate. If you don't learn to innovate yourself, then you are just going to stay in the current system and complain about it being broken.
[00:04:07] Elevate yourself. This is just the beginning.
